Is there any way to make pizza better? Yes! With Cheese Dots crust!
Crazy idea? Maybe, but wait until you try it! So easy and so darn good!!!
For this recipe we used a 7” springform pan and a 6” cast iron pan. Both work well, but we liked the springform more. Want a bigger pizza? Simply adjust the number of Dots according to your pan size.
We used:
- 8 dots for the 7” springform
- 4 dots for the 6” cast iron
- tomato sauce
- fior di latte mozzarella
- n’duja
- spicy soppressata
- fresh oregano
Toppings can change according to your taste of course. Use all veggies to make it vegetarian.
Take your Cheese Dots out of the freezer and let them come to room temperature on the countertop for about 1 hour or so.
In the meantime grease your pans with a little bit of olive oil or butter.
Preheat oven to 425F.
Once the dots are soft and gooey, you’ll just need to press them against the bottom and rims of your pan, almost like pie dough. Make sure to go up the sides, that is what will create the crust.
Now, all you have to do is dress your pizzas.
Spread some tomato sauce on the bottom, put meat/veggies, shredded mozzarella, herbs.
Put the pans on top of a baking tray, just in case something oozes out, and slide them into your hot oven for about 30 minutes.
Time may vary depending on the size of your pan.
Check the oven, you are looking for a golden brown crust. If it looks ready, take them out and give it 5 minutes to cool down before taking the pizzas out of the pans.
We hope you liked it!
